There couldn’t be a better moment than today, as the Principal of the College, I am honoured to announce that Germany’s KFW Development Bank and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) have signed an agreement to establish the country’s first in-service Skills Development Centre for TVET Lecturers at our institution.
Lecturers from TVET Colleges will be trained in fields of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in our Training Centre- Artisan & Skills Development Centre. The main objective of this Training project is to improve the quality of Teaching and Learning and to also address shortfalls at TVET Colleges. It will feed into current Policy Reformed processes by DHET, intended to make Lecturers qualifications more relevant to the marketplace as well as the development of the framework for Continuous Professional Development. (CPD).
