Welcome to Artisan & Skill Development Centre
The Artisan & Skills Development Centre (ASDC) which boasts with the Centre of Specialization in Boilermaking (CoS). It is the sixth delivery site of Ekurhuleni East TVET College, it was established in 2016 as the product of Ekurhuleni East TVET College’s endeavours to support the achievement of the Department of Higher Education and Training’s strategic objectives as well as national targets informed by the National Development Plan (Vision 2030). The ASDC offers skills training in Plumbing, Electrical, General Construction, Carpentry, Tiling and Flooring.
Specific Training Courses are provided for each of these disciplines, ranging from short courses (six weeks to three months) to longer ones which takes students up to Trade Test level. The state-of-the-art Electrical Workshop for training is in the process of developing a similar facility for Plumbing. ASDC is a proud host of Dual System Pilot Project (DSPP) which offers a 3 year apprenticeship in Electrical and Plumbing. It also boasts with the Gauteng Foundry Training Centre (GFTC), Tool & Die Making, and SAMSUNG Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Academy which are located at Kwa-Thema Campus premises.
