The IT department leads the acquisition, development and management of information systems. Information Systems are systems that allow staff, students and stakeholders to gather, store, organise, protect, retrieve, share and make sense of the information in their environments.

The IT department hosts a management information system (MIS) which is a computerized database of financial and other information organized and programmed in such a way that it produces regular reports on operations for every level of management in the college. In an educational institution like a college, the MIS would include databases on staff, student information and academic programmes.
